Hi, I'm Ray. I use any pronouns and I am perpetually excited to learn new things (especially from fellow queer folks!). I am currently a journalism student at the University of Nevada, Reno. I also work at a hyper-local news outlet called Our Town Reno, where recently I've focused on covering the mutual aid community and the steadily growing pro-Palestine movement in Reno. I've also been dipping my little toes in the Adobe Creative Suite. I get really jazzed about being able to mesh art-making with story-telling. Specifically, I've been honing my animation skills so that I can create visual, engaging... Read more

I'm an Atlanta native and resident currently serving as digital editor for the local NPR affiliate WABE. Up until I joined WABE in 2021, I worked specifically for LGBTQ media outlets (serving as the editor for the Georgia Voice and then Project Q Atlanta). I'm really enjoying expanding the LGBTQ coverage at WABE and serving as a resource to other reporters in the newsroom on LGBTQ stories across different beats. One recent project I created is our Beyond Pride series (https://www.wabe.org/beyondpride). I went to the regional NLGJA convening in Orlando in 2017, and this is my first time at the national...
